Wild Bill, the wild-caught, ex-breeder Major Mitchells Cockatoo is absolutely not bonded to people. He has no reason to trust us, and it will probably take a long time before he does. Step one in the process of showing him we are on his side was to give him a large enough space of his own, so that he doesnt feel trapped. So after leaving quarantine we moved him into one of the cockatoo mini-flights. He is already made great friends with his next door neighbor Cockie (Greater Sulfur Crested Cockatoo) and has been jabbering non-stop to him. We are hoping that the ability to choose his own activities in a more natural setting will go a long ways to help Bill settle in here at Parrot Garden.
