#Wilfredfxx series wrap has really affected me. Ive never worked on a series where casting was with production the whole time and not in some office stuck in a separate city or building where you didnt see anyone unless you had sessions or visited set. I now have many fond memories. The first two seasons were fabulous being on our own separate lot where my dearly departed aussie, Gibson, got to come to work daily while healing from ACL surgery and then romping around set. He authenticated the fake backyard tree to my horror one day, but to see Randall Einhorn laugh and say now its real made it alright. He even got to be in the last episode of 1st season when Randall felt the need for another dog to be in vet office. When he died at the end of 3rd season, my grief was comforted by the fabulous family of cast and crew who had embraced both of us. All 4 seasons also saw many births from both cast and crew. Dorian Brown was pregnant all the way through 1st season with Cayman making a brief pre-appearance in the dream sequence just 3 days before he made his grand entrance into our lives right after the season wrapped. Impeccable timing just like his mom. Jason, Producers Eli and Reed also welcomed new little ones, as well as Bob our 2ndAD and Jill in wardrobe. The baby visits would be immediately gratifing by the smell of those baby heads! There also was never a dull moment hanging in the makeup & hair trailer when an escape from phones was needed with Julie and Jose. I already miss my 3 way late night texting with Susan McConnell, our awesome producer, and Susie Flower, the best 1st AD around, of outrageous casting suggestions that may have suggested drinking was involved. The office staff was top notch and a pleasure to share space with lead by fearless Randy who calmly handled all matters. Being able to visit the set daily (incl. a daily hug from Tassi) when they were shooting on stage was always a highlight. This crew is exceptional and I wish we would all work together for the rest of our lives. Now… The cast- Elijah Wood, Jason Gann, Fiona, Dorian… you made us look great! You set the tone for all Guests to feel welcomed and appreciated. You are the most professional and special human beings that Im forever honored to call my friends. The Writing Staff - you all rock because without you we would of never been able to get such amazing guests on a show that pays bupkis and could never meet a quote on cable. Chris Klein , Mary Steenburgen, Rodney To, Dwight Yoakam, John Michael Higgins, Nestor Carbonell, James Remar, all kept coming back to recur over the years (with a few hiccups that you will see this season) and were such great additions to the cast. Im so proud to be able to list the following as SOME of the guest stars over the years - Robin Williams, Ed Helms, Rutger Hauer, Mimi Rogers, Rashida Jones, Billy Baldwin, Steven Weber, Rob Riggle, Alison Mack, Jenny Mollen, Gabriella Pession, Charles Chip Esten, Gina Gershon, Eric Stolz, Peter Stormare, Keegan-Michael Key, Kristen Schaal, Ethan Suplee, Barry Watson, Lance Reddick, JP Manoux, Julie Hagerty, Harriet Sansom Harris, George Coe, Ray Wise, and soooo many more... thank you all for lighting up our days. The crew ALWAYS complimented the casting and I thank you all for making us look so good. And now the 2 men who are the backbone of this show…. Randall Einhorn, the director, who made this half hr look like a masterful 1hr show in what sometimes was only 3 days for one episode to shoot. His direction, leadership, made everyone want to be their best. I will miss discussing all the other incredible shows he directed during hiatus and learning so much about story telling, camera shots, and the wonderful tales of other shows. Im so honored to have worked 4 seasons under him. I will remain his biggest fan forever. NOW THE BIG THANK YOU… I could not be more proud of my brother David. Ive always been a fan of his writing but to be able to watch him run a show for all these years was really something. It took 25yrs for us to finally work together and it really helped us bond both professionally and personally. There were a few well veiled storylines that were pulled from our childhood and played out by Elijah and Dorian. Only relatives caught them which would cause a cousin or two to point out the next day. I loved working with my brother and hope to do it again and again. I wish we had not waited 25yrs to do so. I love ya bro and I loved this show… thank you all.
