I do not and i never have liked Christmas and i find it deeply offensive Thank you all very much for your understanding :/ :/ :/ :/ The Beatles - Dont Bother Me :/ :/ youtu.be/mDstoB8AHvw :/ This was George Harrisons first recorded song. It was his response to critics who claimed he was not an important member of the group because he did not write songs. Harrison never regarded this song very highly, stating, I dont think its a particularly good song... It mightnt even be a song at all, but at least it showed me that all I needed to do was keep on writing, and then maybe eventually I would write something good. A Harrison-penned song would not appear again until the 1965 album Help!. That would be You Know What To Do. This song has a darker, more pessimistic mood that was uncommon of The Beatles main sound, but would come to be Harrisons trademark stamp. This is actually part of what made the Beatles formula work: McCartney was the chirpy, positive one, and Harrison was the melancholic counterpart. George wrote this when he was down with the flu in a hotel room in the Northeast of England. The Beatles chauffeur kept various tapes which the band were working on. Years later these were sold off at one of the London auction houses. This song in its very earliest stages is available on bootleg and features George working the music and lyrics out as he goes along. George stated, I wrote the song as an exercise to see if I could write a song. I was sick in bed. Maybe thats why it turned out to be Dont Bother Me. For your information, the photography technique for the cover of With The Beatles, in which the Fab Fours headshots hover in a half-moon, light-and-shadow effect, is called chiaroscuro. Its an Italian word to describe the Renaissance technique of dramatically contrasted lighting effects in oil paintings. This was the first song on Side 2 of Meet The Beatles, their first album released in the US. With The Beatles was their second UK release. The Beatles Dont Bother Me (Harrison) Since shes been gone I want no one To talk to me Its not the same But Im to blame Its plain to see So go away and leave me alone Dont bother me I cant believe That she would leave Me on my own Its just not right Where every night Im all alone Ive got no time for you right now Dont bother me I know Ill never be the same If I dont get her back again Because I know shell always be The only girl for me But till shes here Please dont come near just stay away Ill let you know When shes come home Untill that the day Dont come around leave me alone Dont bother me Ive got no time for you right now Dont bother me I know Ill never be the same If I dont get her back again Because I know shell always be The only girl for me But till shes here Please dont come near Just stay away Ill let you know When shes come home Untill that the day Dont come around leave me alone Dont bother me Dont bother me Dont bother me Dont Bother Me Dont Bother Me Song by the Beatles from the album With the Beatles Released 22 November 1963 Recorded 11–12 September 1963 Genre Rock and roll Length 2:29 Label Parlophone Writer George Harrison Producer George Martin Dont Bother Me is the first song written by George Harrison to appear on an album by the Beatles. It originally appeared on the groups With the Beatles album in the United Kingdom, released in 1963, and on their Meet the Beatles! album in the United States, released in 1964. Composition Harrison wrote the song while ill in bed at a hotel room in Bournemouth, England where the Beatles were playing some shows during the summer of 1963.He considered it an exercise in whether he could write a song, later saying, at least it showed me that all I needed to do was keep on writing, and then maybe eventually I would write something good.Harrison received a writing credit for two earlier songs, In Spite of All the Danger (McCartney/Harrison) and Cry for a Shadow (Harrison/Lennon). Both were recorded by The Beatles but neither was released officially by the band until 1995s Anthology 1 compilation.Because the former was largely a McCartney composition (Harrison received a credit simply for playing the guitar solo) and the latter was an instrumental pastiche of the Shadows, Dont Bother Me is considered Harrisons first song by most (including the composer himself). After Dont Bother Me, it was not until 1965s Help! album that another Harrison-penned song (“I Need You” and You Like Me Too Much) would appear on record. You Know What to Do was recorded in 1964, but was not released at the time. Musical structure The sullen mood and desolate lyrics—So go away, leave me alone, dont bother me—were unusual for the Beatles at the time but would become characteristic for Harrison. The song mostly stays in a minor key (Em), with a in a i-IV-i Dorian alternation during the chorus: the Em of since shes gone shifting to a v (Bm chord) on gone then an iv (A minor chord) on no-one makes the verse an Aeolian (or natural minor) mode, and an interior guitar part during the verse plays an F natural, briefly referencing an E Phrygian mode. The chords of the chorus (Em-A-Em) also create the Dorian progression i-IV-i. The song achieves a thick sound through its double-tracked vocal, reverbed guitars, and busy drumming. The elaborate percussion lends the song a Latin rhythm accentuated by its stop-time structure. On some late-1970s Canadian stereo pressings of Meet the Beatles!, an alternate version of the song with an extra ‘dont’ sung at 2:08 is included in place of the standard stereo version. Recording They recorded the song on 11 and 12 September 1963.They were not satisfied with the version recorded on the eleventh and did a remake on the twelfth.Just a few days after the recording was completed, Harrison became the first member of the Beatles to travel to the US when he visited his sister in Benton, Illinois. Appearances Dont Bother Me is one of several songs featured in A Hard Days Night, during a scene where the Beatles dance at a nightclub while McCartneys grandfather gambles elsewhere. At the end of the film, it is noted as a Lennon–McCartney composition rather than a Harrison composition. The song is performed in the 1979 biopic motion picture Birth of the Beatles, showing it was performed in Hamburg but so was not the case. British singer Gregory Phillips released a version of Dont Bother Me as his third single. Though unsuccessful, this was the first cover version of a Harrison composition. Argentinian musician Luis Alberto Spinetta released a version of Dont Bother Me on his live album Obras En Vivo (2002). British singer/songwriter Kamila Thompson released a version of Dont Bother Me as the last track on her debut album Love Lies (2011).
