William E Plumber, mechanical engineer from Kentucky USA, lived here in 1891 at 35 Whetley Lane Girlington with his wife and family. His son Harry Brown Plummer was born in the USA and married Olive Mary Moxon from Harrogate in Harrogate. Harry was the district manager for the US Metallic Packing Co Ltd and in 1911 they were both living in Gateshead. One interest thing I found was that his father William went to the USA in 1914. 31st Jan 1914 William went from Liverpool to New York on the Lusitania! This is a year before it was sunk by a German U boat in WW1! The Lusitania was sunk 7th May 1915. I do like the inscription at the bottom for William, he lived, he died..........straight to the point! :) This was just another random headstone I chose to photograph today!
