Williams vs. Errani: Rome Final Match Preview: Top seeded Serena Williams will face 10th seeded Sara Errani in the finals of the Italian Open. Errani is the first Italian in almost 30 years to reach the finals of the home tournament and she is on a role with upsets which means the match could be more interesting than just complete domination from Serena. Williams is seeking her third Rome title and seems to be in fine shape to accomplish it. A few minor injuries have plagued Serenas 2014 season, but they do not seem to be holding her back now. This will be their seventh meeting and Williams leads the head-to-head 6-0. Williams is coming off a three set victory over Ana Ivanovic 6-1, 3-6, 6-1, but Serenas previous matches have been a breeze. Errani has accomplished two upsets back to back to great top 10 players. Her most recent was over Jelena Jankovic 6-3, 7-5 and before that, she defeated Na Li 6-3, 4-6, 6-2. Errani has proved to be a fighter. There were a few moments when I thought I might not pull it off but the fans were huge, said Errani after her semifinal victory. Serena has acknowledge Erranis performance as she prepares to face the Italian, Shes just taken her game to a whole new level and she has so much confidence beating two really good top-10 players and two really great clay-court players. Given Erranis success it will be hard to expect an easy match for Serena, but they are both amazing fighters. Errani will have the fans on her side to give her an extra boost, but nothing can deny Serena of her number one ranking and being the one to beat. Match Prediction: Serena will win in three sets.
