Willow Glen Elementary School was locked down briefly in the early morning on May 23 while San Jose Police searched for a man reportedly wearing camouflage-style clothing and carrying what appeared to be a gun walking near the school. Police responded after a school employee called to say she was told by someone who had heard about the man from someone else. A driver along Lincoln Avenue said she counted six police cars, including one with its lights on, although traffic was not disrupted. San Jose Police Officer Albert Morales said police searched the school and surrounding area thoroughly and no one matching the description was found and the lockdown was removed by 9:30 a.m.
