Win Ice Skating Tickets in our Guess-The-Number-Of-Ice-Cubes-In-A-Something competition! Day Two... Continuing our research into how many ice cubes fit into Christmas-related things, today we’ve filled a family sized tub of Celebrations chocolates. We ate all the chocolates first then filled the tub until we couldn’t fit any more in without the lid not shutting properly. Post your guesses below by 12 noon tomorrow saying how many ice cubes you think filled the tub, and the closest to the correct answer wins a family ice skating ticket. The ticket can be used on any day up to the 16th December on the Bournemouth Gardens of Light Ice Rink and is valid for up to four people. We’re sure you’ll already know this, but a family tub of Celebrations measures 23.2 cm in diameter (or just over 9 inches) and has a depth at the shallow end of 8.7cm (3.5 inches). It is more usually seen being passed around at Christmas time and filled with chocolates until Boxing Day when only the miniature Bountys will remain. It’s suitable for vegetarians and that remains the case when filled with ice. Once again the ice we used was (more or less) standard EU regulation size and shape. That’s 3.125 cm (1¼ inch) sided cubes as an average in case anyone doesn’t know. There are 7 family tickets to win, each for up to 4 skaters. A different object will be posted every day filled with ice until the sky falls onto our heads, or someone begs us to stop! And here’s an ice-related joke to entertain you while you count... Q: Whats an ig? A: A snow house without a loo!
