Windsor El Día de Los Muertos de los muertos Getting ready for Day of the Dead festivities in Windsor. Theyve already started this month. The big Night is November 1 Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 Sunset - 10 p.m. Windsor Town Green, Windsor CA | MAP Admission: Free Calavera face painting, bbq, tacos, refreshments: $$$ Bring the kids, the grandparents, the aunts and uncles and your friends to this fun, family-centered celebration of relatives and ancestors now living among The Dead -- Los Muertos! Dont forget to invite your Muertos! The evening starts with authentic Latin American foods and refreshments for sale on the Windsor Town Green, artists for hire to face paint traditional calavera Muertos skulls, music, and costumed dancers. Some of Sonoma Countys finest Aztec Dancers will perform traditional dances for the dead at sunset. They will be joined by costumed drummers and dancers from the award-winning Windsor Bloco Youth Drum and Dance Ensemble and Windsor Ballet Folklorico dancers of all ages. Follow the dancers and drummers as they lead a traditional procession -- complete with giant Carnaval-sized stick puppets -- around the Windsor Town Green as darkness falls. Bring a battery-powered candle to carry a flame for your familys muertos and join the procession around the square! The procession begins and ends on the Windsor Town Green in front of the library, with Mariachi music and more dance performances to finish out the evening.
