Winnipeg police are looking for help from people who might have seen a 16-year-old teen before she was assaulted on Saturday. Police spokesman Eric Hofley said Sunday investigators havent been able to speak with the injured girl yet. This is a 16-year-old girl viciously assaulted, Hofley said. I am not interested in portraying her as anything but a victim. Hofley said a passerby found the girl lying on the riverwalk just east of the Midtown Bridge on Saturday at 7 a.m. The girl was taken to hospital in unstable condition, but has since been upgraded to stable. Homicide detectives were called in at the start of the investigation. Police describe the girl as aboriginal, 5-8, 180 lbs., with dark brown hair past the shoulders. She was wearing black leggings, white runners, a dark-coloured North Face hooded jacket and a black Wutang hoody.
