Winnipeggers! Do you love Japanese food? Of course you do. Here are three of my favourite Japanese restaurants with really cool owners that you should absolutely support! Kazoku - 2579 Pembina Highway. They have amazing authentic-style ramen, tempura, donburi and sushi in really generous portions. You will always leave stuffed and happy. I have never had anything here that I didnt love! BONUS: Theyre always playing animated movies on a flatscreen from Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, etc. which is a really fun quirk I always appreciate while Im waiting for food. Dwarf no Cachette Cafe & Gift - 157 Provencher. Two things that stand out: the environment and the sheer variety in the menu. They have everything Japanese you could need - anything from omurice to ramen to shaved ice (depicted in handmade scrapbook menus), and theyre ALL DELICIOUS. Best of all, you get to enjoy it in a really charmingly decorated cafe with an attached gift shop full of cute Asian trinkets. Seriously, its so cute. I wish I could come here for lunch every day to catch up with friends, grab a coffee, read a book, sleep, move in... you know. Ramen Aji Kura - 637 Corydon. I went here for the first time today, and their ramen BLEW ME AWAY enough that I had to come and rant about it here. They have really authentic ramen in classic flavours like tonkotsu, shio, shoyu, and miso (among others) with AMAZING homemade noodles and broth and THE TENDEREST MEAT IVE EVER HAD. They also have donburi, curry rice, teppan-yaki, and a few other dishes! They just opened up a few months ago so please support them, they absolutely deserve it! This post is public so please feel free to share it with your other Japanese-food loving friends! GO FORTH AND SUPPORT THESE WONDERFUL RESTAURANTS
