Winston Churchill... Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak, courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen. Ecclesiastes (and the Byrds with their 1965 hit recording of Turn, Turn, Turn) remind us of the changing seasons of life and the courage it takes to face them. Standing up when you feel all alone is an excruciating experience especially for the normally quiet soul. However, sometimes we need to pull our big boy pants up and stand tall. I think we are all familiar with this scenario. However, sometimes it is just as challenging (especially to our ego) to sit down and listen when everything in us is jumping up and down demanding to be heard. Courage is not always expressed in action, sometimes it costs much more in emotional strength to be strong enough to let others have a chance. So, whatever you face today, understand that the right thing, is many times the difficult thing.
