Winter weather, email from my boss today: Hi all, This is a heads-up on the coming winter weather and what to do. The forecast is for freezing rain in Oklahoma tonight through possibly Saturday morning. It will be very windy with temperatures dropping rapidly today. In the Norman area, the rain is expected to turn to freezing rain sometime after midnight and continue into the day. No clear idea of amounts yet, but ice is ice! After this round, they are forecasting sleet/snow Sunday into Monday; well see how that unfolds. If you have not set up OU text alerts for your phone, please do so today, at https://account.ou.edu Then you will get an alert if OU is closing campus or doing a delayed open. If you feel it is unsafe to travel, stay home, regardless of whether campus is open, and contact me to let me know. If you are at work and feel you need to leave for home before travel becomes unsafe, do so, and let me know. We will let you know ASAP when we receive direction about OU and/or Bizzell being closed and/or people being released to go home. Either of these events could mean losing power at home; make your own preparations as needed, okay?
