Wisdom Speaks Daily Devotional Good morning my dear friend. Welcome again to Wisdom Speaks Daily Devotional. Today is August 8 and we are reading Exodus 8. Let us hear what Wisdom speaks to us in verses 28-32: 28 And Pharaoh said, "I will let you go, that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away. Intercede for me." 29 Then Moses said, "Indeed I am going out from you, and I will entreat the LORD, that the swarms of flies may depart tomorrow from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. But let Pharaoh not deal deceitfully anymore in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD." 30 So Moses went out from Pharaoh and entreated the LORD. 31 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; He removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people. Not one remained. 32 But Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also; neither would he let the people go. (NKJV) This chapter of the book of Exodus shows how Pharaoh responded to three plagues which Jehovah God brought upon him and his people the Egyptians as signs that He is the Lord and as evidence of His strong determination to liberate His covenant people from his tyranny and oppressive rule. It is also obvious that Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and he just would not let Israel go free from his land. Although he was usually sober when each plague began because of the untold pains his people suffered from the plagues, yet when the plague was taken away and he felt relieved, he again hardened his mind. This attitude of Pharaoh is demonstrative of how the forces of Satan and darkness operate. When you begin to pray and God’s finger is lifted against the powers oppressing you, you experience some relief in your situation. It is like the powers behind your situation is “repentant”. If you relent in your prayers you will notice a renewed surge of attacks from the enemy. This is one reason you must never relent or become unnecessarily “gracious” to the enemy. For no matter how much grace and kindness you show to the hardened wicked, he will not stop afflicting you. Therefore keep on firing until you have complete deliverance and peace of mind and body. For it is written, “Let grace be shown to the wicked, Yet he will not learn righteousness; In the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly, And will not behold the majesty of the LORD”. Isaiah 26:10 (NKJV) Read the above words again, “Let grace be shown to the wicked, Yet he will not learn righteousness; In the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly, And will not behold the majesty of the LORD.” That is just the plain truth about the hardened wicked, the powers of darkness. But I also wish to pass this warning to everyone who has been making a mockery of the grace of God. I mean those who live in sin and suffer as a result of their sinful lifestyle. In their trouble they are remorseful and make promises to God that they would never go back to their sinful ways. But who after been healed and delivered from their destruction return to their vomit. Understand that if you are one of such people your attitude is like that of Pharaoh and you are playing a very dangerous game. You must realise that the goodness, graciousness and kindness of God which you enjoy as a result of the prayers and intercessions of some godly person close to you are supposed to lead you to repentance and conversion to Christ. But if you continue to play the Pharaoh game with God, beware! Sudden destruction may follow. As it is written, 4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? 5 But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who "will render to each one according to his deeds" Romans 2:4-6 (NKJV) Therefore if you are still in sin it is high time you repented genuinely from your sinful and wicked ways and turn completely to God through faith in Christ Jesus for forgiveness and salvation of your soul. And if you are a child of God undergoing some Pharaoh-like oppression in your life, do not let the little relief you experience make you lukewarm or lazy in your prayers. If you relent in your prayers and whatever God instructs you to do for your deliverance, the enemy of your peace and prosperity will regain strength to renew his assaults and attacks against you. Therefore keep on firing hard until your victory is complete. If these words bless you, please SHARE this message with your friends. Someone around you needs to read these words NOW. Thank you for your obedience. Have a blessed day. See you again tomorrow
