Wish some people in my life would learn from these wise words. I - TopicsExpress

Wish some people in my life would learn from these wise words. I know my hubby and I dont always see eye to eye (hell, on just about anything--what he told people at KallypsoCon about how I USUALLY am, was true!). But ultimately, I know I wouldnt want to go through life without him by my side. Hes always provided love, security, and eventually got me to trust him. (I think we both agree it took about 15 years to get to that point--and I could have driven him away long before that, but he saw something there worth loving and just remained patient and true to me until I finally got that he wasnt going to leave no matter how I tested him.) Okay, he has the patience of Job. Not sure Im that patient, but Im blessed to have him in my life these past 33 years (counting when we first started corresponding by mail this very month in 1981). Some young people just whip in and out of marriage and relationships until times get tough and then rather than work together to solve the problems, they run off only to get involved in later relationships where the same happens. Its a brutal cycle that just leads to a miserable life where they only go to the surface level in a relationship. My husband and I have evolved over the years. We arent those naive young people who came together and decided there would never be challenges or problems as long as we love each other. As I write in my books, marriage is the happy beginning, not the happy ending. Happiness takes maintenance. Couples must respect and encourage their love ones. They need to tackle the problems together, not abandon one to be left holding the bag. Okay, Ill shut up now. Just saw this and had to speak my truth.
