Wish we could go to the drive-ins again. After the last local - TopicsExpress

Wish we could go to the drive-ins again. After the last local theater (or theatre) closed a couple years ago, it was as though I was saying goodbye to part of my life. I guess that is so; only the grand memories remain. This photo was taken in Barnesville, Ohio. It is the old Leatherwood Drive-In theatre that stands in a large field with its ticket booth, concession stand, and screen still intact. I also noticed the Marquee and the Entrance and Exit posts strangled in heavy weeds standing nearby. There were no signs of the speaker or in-car heater posts. The Leatherwood Theatre opened in 1953 and could accommodate 200 cars. It closed in the late 1970s.
