Wishing my sister, Huma Qureshi, a very happy birthday. She is the most generous and caring individual I know, truly a blessing. My wish for her is happiness, health and Jannat ul Firdous. Now, here are some fun facts about Huma ;) 1. She snorts when she laughs. 2. She is the best aunt ever (from Iman & Heba) 3. When she leaves my home she always always ALWAYS forgets something. Sometimes that ‘something’ is one of her kids. 4. Her sole responsibility when she comes over is to make chai. As many times as we want her to make it. Yes, she makes the best chai e-v-e-r. 5. She steals my dad’s socks. 6. She once left meat in the trunk of her car for 6 months. Luckily for her it was winter. When spring came around, she smelled an awful stench and blamed it on a child dropping milk on her back seat. Fortunately, her husband investigated and found the bag of meat. 7. She has amazing luck, masha’Allah. She has lost her cell phone (many times) in public places and each time, the stranger who finds it calls her and tells her that her phone is safe. 8. My 16 year old once convinced her that the groves in our dining table were there to capture spilled liquid. 9. She is such a good mother that if she lived closer, I would ask her to raise my kids. 10. Actually, the truth is I can’t say enough good things about this woman. Right before my eyes, I have witnessed her grow into the beautiful person she is today, Masha’Allah. Love you tons Homes!
