With Domestic Violence you have two things you will have to deal with. 1.) The Victim 2.) The Perpetrator. Your first priority is to get the Victim or Victims to safety. That means that sometimes you will have to remove them by force . The safest way to remove the Victim is when the Perpetrator is not at home. You will need to have the following ready before you remove the Victim or Victims : a.) A safe haven where you can take them. b.) Sufficient medical supplies in case you have to administer first aid. c.) Contact with a Social worker , Doctor the Police and emergency services. d.) Sufficient Blankets, Clothing , food and beds for the Victims to sleep in. This is what you can expect from the Perpetrator: a.) Extreme Violence. b.) He might be drunk or under the influence of narcotics. c.) He might be armed with a Gun or Knife. d.) He might try to keep the Victim Hostage. e.) He might try to commit family Suicide. You need to know the following : 1.) Location of the Incident. 2.) How many Victims there are 3.) Know the surroundings of where the incident is taking place. 4.) First observe your surroundings before you are going to walk into the fight. 5.) Plan your exit route carefully. 6.) Never turn your back on the Perpetrator. 7.) Never take any threats from the Perpetrator lightly. 8.) Always keep the Perpetrator in clear view if you are going to engage him directly. 9.) Do not lose your Temper , stay focused. 10.) Know who the Perpetrator is, size, weight , habits everything you can know about the Perpetrator you must know , never walk in unprepared. Never make the location of the safe house known to Perpetrator. Never trust Perpetrator. Never believe anything Perpetrator says or promise , he will try to sweet talk you and say everything is fine. Do not leave the Victim alone with Perpetrator. This is just some tips from my past experience and things that might help you. Last but not least always have a Plan B. Be prepared and alert at all times and never let your Guard down. You are not playing a Game , people can die or get seriously injured.
