With Eid around the corner and with the traffic jammed packed I had to walk home which was a solid 1 and half hours; a good bit of cardio. Cardio is not the fix all solution when it comes to body compositional changes anymore. New times have rolled in and we have tons of research studies proving that weight lifting is far more superior for fat loss and body compositional changes. But, even though we have these new findings, people still don’t get it and people still want to sit on the bikes, texting away. Do as you please. However, instead of spending long hours on the treadmill/cardio machines which normally lead to disappointment, you can vary it up a bit by switching to HIIT. So what is HIIT? HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training, which consists of short sprint intervals along with some low intensity work. For example a 30 second sprint (in other words run as if a dog is chasing you) followed by let’s suppose a minute of steady pace walk; and you keep on repeating that cycle. Anything between 15 to 20 minutes is recommended. So, it will save you ample time and it’s considered one of the best cardio strategies for fat loss. Many other benefits are involved too. So, change it up a bit and do let me know how it goes.
