With a new venue, a new look and a splash of new exhibitors, as well as products, the eagerly anticipated SPATEX exhibition is set to return this February with renewed vigour and joire de vivre. Now in its 18th year, the water leisure networking event takes place from Sunday–Tuesday February 2 to 4, in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry. Some 100 companies from both the commercial and domestic pool and spa sectors are on their starting blocks ready to dive into the new look event. They will be promoting a comprehensive range of products and services that cover the whole spectrum of water leisure from swimming pools to spas and everything in between. “We planned on this being our best ever show and we are certainly on course for that to happen,” said show organiser Michele Bridle. “We have attracted previous exhibitors as well as newcomers in over 150 categories and everything is in place for SPATEX 2014 to be the industry’s best show yet. “All the industry’s leading companies and personnel are coming along and it promises to be three days of non-stop activity throughout the Ricoh Arena.” Increased from 20 to 25 this year, a highlight of the show is the comprehensive programme of free workshops provided by ISPE (Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers), which offers visitors valuable technical support and information on various aspects of pool engineering. The SPATA and BISHTA Awards night will take place on the Sunday, February 2, where, for the first time, the ISPE will also be acknowledging the winners of their annual awards too. Visitors and exhibitors can gather in the on-site casino on the Monday evening for a networking style event with live music. For those involved in the provision of commercial pool and spa, Tuesday February 4 has been designated a Leisure Operators’ Day. There will be a host of competitions and giveaways from exhibitors looking to stand out from the crowd. Make a beeline for the Certikin stand to see the impressive CertiDos range and to find out how to win a SMART car. The Certikin stands, 335, 430 and 440, will once again incorporate a large hospitality area in which visitors can browse new products at their leisure and talk to staff. This year’s impressive line-up includes a new Galaxy fixed pool enclosure, the Chameleon powered floor and the Aquaspeed Variable speed pump.
