With a nod to the Film Noir/Sam Spade genre, Neither Here Noir - TopicsExpress

With a nod to the Film Noir/Sam Spade genre, Neither Here Noir There will encompass all drama, dance, and choir classes. The drama class will study Film Noir style through examples, and theatre & improv games, as I write the play directly around the students. My intention is to include a Gumshoe, a Newspaper Reporter, a Jazz Club Singer, Jazz Club Dancers, Jazz Club Proprietor (a Jazz Club that only serves up rootbeer and milk), a Police Sergeant, The Damsel in Distress and her Innocent Brother/Sister, Waitress and Waiter, a Thug (not the gun carrying type- he or she disables the opponent in very creative ways), and the Thug’s Sidekick, for starters. If you know me, you are familiar with my delight in the ridiculous, the cheesy, and family friendly scripts. I am also adamant about making sure every student who wants a speaking role will get a fair part, according to his/her abilities, experience, willingness to participate, dedication and behavior in class. The choir and dance classes will be a part of the play, providing with musical numbers and dances in styles of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s.
