With all due respect for either Netanyahu or Dannon, the main Problem of the Likud stays at the question whether the party has a policy or not and if this policy is endorsed by the Likud members. Likud has disappointed its members and supporters too many times in the past and should not repeat it once again. Only the institutions of the Likud as stated in its constitution, have the right to make basic changes in its policy and stand regarding major ideological or political questions. Running any proposal to changes or revisions in the existing policies must run through those institutions, it is a basic and fundamental democratic test for the party and its integrity Vis a Vis its members and supporters. Personal issues matter, but they are secondary in importance the core issues. The Likud may lose its support among the people if it disappoint its members and supporters. If this happens the Likud will lose its position as a major political power in Israel, like the Labor party.
