With all of the cutting remarks made about Liza Minelli, I wanted to tell my FB friends about my one and only experience with Liza. It was many many years ago in Washington D.C. when I was attending school there. Liza was scheduled to perform at the Kennedy Center and I was given the job of going to Lizas rehearsal for my school newspaper to take photos. I was intimidated beyond belief but excited at the same time. I was taken to the performing hall and given instructions by the woman in charge of publicity that I was not to go beyond a certain point while taking photos. I set up my camera and waited along with the other photographers from the various Washington newspapers and magazines. As soon as Liza came onto the stage the other photographers rushed to the front to get as many shots as they could while she set up and began rehearsals. I stayed put as I was young, inexperienced and in awe that THE Liza Minelli was RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME! I will never forget what happened next. Liza saw me staying back out of respect for the moment. As a result she deliberately focused her movements towards where I was standing. My heart was racing! She noticed me! LOL LOL LOL While the professional photographers were battling with each other for position, Liza calmly ignored them and focused right on me. Needless to say the shots I got were fantastic and the school paper got exactly what they wanted. (I found the photos today and saw a woman in her absolute prime.) so to you Miss Minelli, I will always cherish that one moment when you made me the happiest young man in Washington D.C.
