With all of the positive reports from Christina over the last few weeks, THIS is the one weve been waiting for!!!! After 83 days in ICU, 11 operations, being unable to talk, unable to breathe without assistance, unable to swallow, unable to sit up,stand, walk.... After 83 of the most terrifying days of our entires lives. 83 of the most challenging days of our entire lives. After 36,000 caring bridge views, 83 caring bridge updates, I bring you this.... The end of a very long chapter. Dad was transferred to rehab tonight. This is where the real work begins for him. The work that will get him back home with us! Back to doing the things he loves. Back HOME! Tonight is a very emotional night. Hes leaving the people we have trusted him with for the past 83 days. These people saved his life, were his cheerleaders, advocated for him, kept us informed at every minute and were so overwhelmingly compassionate. We will forever be grateful to these outstanding individuals. Forever.... Tonight we begin anew.... His days will now be filled with rehab activities. He will no doubt be kept very busy during these next very important weeks. Tonight will also mark the end of my daily updates. I will keep everyone up to date with a weekly journal from here on out. This is also very emotional for me. These journal entries have served as my nightly outlet. My decompression and daily reflection. Thank you for sticking by our family. For your comments, support and prayers. For putting up with my horrible grammar and the spelling errors that come with trying to journal on an iPhone. Im thankful for all of my dads friends who are now my friends! I/we sincerely appreciate each and every one of you! We are so blessed! Please continue to pray!
