With all the Portuguese Pride surrounding the World Cup and the athletes sometimes the real heroes are lost. Take some time to read about this man. I learned of him several years back when I saw an Exhibit at Ellis Island commemorating his work during WWII on this day. He is a real Portuguese Hero who was punished for his humanity. As an aside, he issued the visas for Margaret & H.A. Rey, creators of Curious George, my sons all time favorite character.
