With all the media surrounding Haweswater being in drought lately - TopicsExpress

With all the media surrounding Haweswater being in drought lately and the old village walls coming into view, i decided to take a trip up there to see it for myself. I couldnt see much of photographic interest (to me) so decided I may as well hike up from Mardale head towards High Street and see some new Tarns. I went as far as the point between Mardale Bell and Harter fell and hung around here and ate my tea at the ample stone shelter up there and decided due to the winds picking up it was wise to head back down. This was the view from about 2400ft, looking back over Little Tarn, with Haweswater below and into the distance. The area of Haweswater that appears to be a stream, is usually fully submerged and features lots of walls that used to make up the village before it was flooded to create a reservoir.
