With all three 5th grade classes in a room, I proceeded to lecture them on their failure to be role models for the elementary school. After a good 5 minutes of that, I told them that the principal and our 5th grade team decided we were going to have to cancel recess indefinitely. Then I answered questions...because Im a horrible person. Only after letting the guilt and suffering saturate did I reluctantly mutter April fools. :) How the room erupted! And after all that cruelty on my behalf, they still complimented me for my iron-clad poker face.
