With deep sorrow, I post the founder of Highland Gardens, Len Sorensen passed away last night. Our little family owned business started out in the early 50s as a grocery store, run by Len. He realized it was more fun to sell tomato plants than canned tomatoes! The garden center was born, and grew, from Lens dynamic and far reaching visions. He was also the mayor of New Cumberland back in the day, and helped plot the vision of the charm for its future. A man of great vision, savvy, daring and leadership. May your tomatoes ripen early and your trees grow big and strong in your garden in heaven, Len. We love you and miss you.
