With his Gibson hollow body in hand Nick Waterhouse took to the little stage at Pappy and Harriets ready to have a blast as he did moments earlier dancing with a gorgeous blond dressed like a young Doris Day. Introducing the assorted Pappys crowd to his latest album Holly out through Innovative Leisure. This is Nick Waterhouses third outing to this desert roadhouse. He appeared extremely comfortable prior to the show hanging out by the stage and the bar. He even took the time to sign an autograph for Canadian tourists who mentioned to me that they heard about Nick Waterhouse after seeing the Lexus CT Hybrid commercial, which features “Say I Wanna Know” from Times all Gone. Dressed in a suit and black loafers, Nick was ready to let loose. Starting his fifteen plus song set with “Indian Love Call.” Supported by two saxophones,a drummer, a keyboardist, a bassist and one wonderful backing singer the start of “This is a Game” got the crowd swinging and swaying with a few sun dried hippies dancing to a different groove most likely the result of tasting an exotic cactus. Last nights show was heavy with songs from his new record which is amazing including “Sleepin Pills,” “Holly,” and “Aint There Something That Money Cant Buy. “ Holly is a must for your record collection. nickwaterhouse pappyandharriets irockphotos.net/ © Guillermo Prieto 2014
