With reference to the events in Ferguson, my first impression of the people who chant, No Justice, No Peace, is that by justice they mean convicting Darren Wilson and sending him to prison and by no peace they mean we will riot in the streets. Does anyone have an alternate reading of that slogan? Because if my first impression is right, these particular protesters are perpetrating unconscionable blackmail on this city and this country. They are drawing a conclusion about someones guilt without any due process (much less a trial) and threatening serious civil unrest if they dont get their preferred prosecution, verdict, and punishment. The fact that the chant was used during the LA riots after people were upset by the Rodney King verdict is not reassuring to me. Am I missing something? Please, please, explain why Im totally off-base here. I desperately want to be wrong. https://youtube/watch?v=YJ07e9h3thM
