With shock and dismay, I received the news of the Nigeria police force; Rivers State command sealing off and blocking entrance to the liberation stadium yesterday and thereby prevented Rivers youths and other Nigerians from picking up their posting letters. Some of these people had to travel from as far Kaduna, Lagos etc to pick up their letters against resumption on Monday in the classroom. This is the height of a gang-rape of our democracy. This culture of impunity of police commissioner Joseph Mbu trying to transform himself as the governor of Rivers State and a clearing house of every Rivers State Government function is highly condemned. While I wonder where Mbu gets all these powers he thinks he has from, let me quickly refer him to major hamza mustapha ADC to Abacha: when the cheaps are down, Rivers people and Nigerians at large will speak. The same law mbu claims he is trying to prevent its breakdown will certainly caght up with him soonest. I therefore sincerely advise all Rivers people and the Youths in particular to remain calm and law abiding as the government of Rivers State under governor Amaechi is in charge of the situation.
