With the 50th anniversary of the passing of Lewis approaching, Ive - TopicsExpress

With the 50th anniversary of the passing of Lewis approaching, Ive been pondering how he has influenced me as a 19-year-old kid in the Air Force and now, as an old English teacher: counting my blessings, naming them one by one. The Oxbridge don and professor has been my constant companion since 1981. I can almost follow his books throughout my years. One text has, in recent years, strengthened and encouraged me immensely as an English teacher in the public education system: The Abolition of Man (coupled with That Hideous Strength). So how very, very happy I was, to the point of chuckling out loud, to learn from First Things than Ayn Rand really, really, REALLY hated C.S.
