Please find attached a suggested article – it would be great if you can share this online, in newsletters, or in publications. People need to visit aec.gov.au/Voting/Ways_to_vote/overseas.htm to apply for a postal vote. This service will be available for people overseas until 28 August. Alternatively, Australians can vote in-person at overseas voting centres from Monday 26 August at 102 Australian Embassies and Consulates. People should check with their nearest overseas voting centre to find out what dates and times they will be open for voting. The largest overseas polling places include: London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Washington, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Shanghai, Beijing At the 2010 federal election, more than 70,000 votes were issued at overseas posts, including about 16,000 in London and almost 8,000 in Hong Kong.
