With the Soweto Derby approaching us steadily, there are a number of players who could play or have played their final derby match this weekend for the Amakhosi. Itumeleng Khune This may not be something our Khosi family will want to hear but the fact is that Khune will most likely be leaving Naturena for a move abroad, or even to Sundowns. And if whispers of his injury being career-threatening turn out true then he may have had already played his last derby game for our club. Erick Mathoho The defender will be approaching his last two years of his contract with the black and gold and it remains to be seen where his future lies wurg rumours of him making a move abroad are starting to come thick and fast. What will the Khosi defence do without Tower in the next derby if a move overseas turns true? Tefu Mashamaite Another player who is yet tie down his long-term future at the club. Masha has been crucial for Chiefs this season and even scored in the MTN8 final win over Orlando Pirates earlier this season. Let’s hope that this derby won’t be his last. Siphiwe Tshabalala Shabba’s contract is expected to come to an end In June next year. Although I find it impossible to picture a derby without him, one cannot predict what will happen with the midfield maestro. Kingston Nkhatha With the Zimbabwean falling victim to the boo boys again of late, it remains to be seen whether or not he will even turn out of this weekend’s tie. With him entering his final six months of his contract, he will be desperate to prove a point during this fixture in hope of extending his stay at The Village. George Lebese & Mandla Masango Milkshake and Bullet have been enjoying some great form this season and have also been tipped for a move abroad. With Lebese’s contract set to expire next June as well as Masango, who knows if this could be their last derby or their second last... Who will have the biggest impact in the derby?
