With the Tribe less than a game out of the final playoff spot with two weeks to play, I want to point out three facts to all the Indians haters. The Indians spend $20 million in the off-season on Nick Swisher and Mark Reynolds and got 35 HR and 105 RBI for that money. The Angels spend $25 million on Josh Hamilton and got 20 HR-68 RBI, BJ Upton cost the Braves $15 mil and has put up 9 HR and 26 RBI. Since the All-Star Break, with a team in a pennant race, Ubaldo Jimenez has the best ERA of any starter in AL at 1.83. The great Drew Pomeranz and Alex White have career records of 9-27, I guess we didn’t trade Smoltz and Maddox after all. With the Indians “bullpen from hell” and closer that everyone is waiting to run out of town, the team in 2nd in the A.L. in one-run games. So please tell me again how the front office did such a horrible job of putting this team together.
