With the aid of an ancient map and a very knowledgeable tour guide, in June 2012 I located and visited the site of the 1640 home and linen shop of Anthony Stoddard, my 8th great-grandfather. It is directly across the street from the Old State House, and 130 years later it was the site of the Boston Massacre. Below the same facts are borne out in an old walking tour book featuring historic markers that once identified various sites.
