With the all-consuming focus that the NC Senate race has garnered this year, I am sure that the majority of North Carolinians have not noticed that there is a proposed constitutional amendment on the ballot. The proposed amendment to the NC Constitution would allow for any person to waive their right to a jury trial in all cases not involving the death penalty. I thought it wise to share this publication on the amendment so that you could all educate yourselves on it -- it includes arguments both in favor and against. I would also love to hear what everyone thinks about the amendment. Please comment and share your thoughts.
