With the drastic drought conditions upon us, I will no longer be - TopicsExpress

With the drastic drought conditions upon us, I will no longer be watering my yard, other than a few select plants that have special sentimental value (Mothers Day gifts, etc.) I am taking other steps to use less water and hope that my showering less often does not offend anyone. My dishes will not get washed until the dishwater is overflowing or I run out silverware. My toilet will not get flushed until necessary. My animals will always have water, which will be available to the local birds. The bird bath will be empty. I will be drinking more and more store-bought water that is shipped in from out of state where drought conditions are not in effect, thus saving a little each day for emergencies. My fear is, with all the raging fires this season, what will happen if the lakes are dry and emergency vehicles are not able to refill?
