With the exception of my StarCrash posts and a few likes or comments here and there, I have been pretty clear from Facebook for 6 weeks and wanted to give you guys a quick update. On July 2nd I was laid off. My boss said that he could not afford my services. I was not getting paid a lot but at least it was steady work. Last December he told me that I should start to look for work elsewhere, because he was expecting a baby and his wife wanted to save the money so she could go on maternity leave. That really makes a guy feel good inside. Since December I have been applying for jobs from anything from 3rd shift janitorial at In-N-Out to QA tester for Amazon. I have no idea how many applications I have sent out over the last eight months, but of all of them, I have only received 4 replies. I wish I had some indication that any of these folks are seeing my applications, especially since they take so long to fill out. A few months back, I started to submit the comic book that I have been working on with Kevin Stone to publishers. Just like the job applications, nobody feels like sending any notification, good or bad, that they have seen my submission. Its a little frustrating because I we have put a lot of work into the book. Since I have had time off, I have been able to continue writing more issues of the book. I am almost finished with issue three. A week and a half ago I attended Comic Con for one day. I was asked to moderate the Lost Podcast and Beyond panel for Jay and Jack. I was really proud of how it turned out. It was definitely a highlight of the past month. In three days I will be showing StarCrash at The Frida Cinema in Santa Ana. Back when I started It Came From The VCR, it was a dream of mine to show odd movies to many people. Logan Crow from The Frida was awesome enough to meet with me and take a chance on my shenanigans. There is a lot going on in my life and the majority of it is surrounded by stress.
