Recently released economic data suggest a health in the broader economy. Specifically, the University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment index just posted a 7-year high. As well, US Industrial Output rose a full percent and doubled the forecast by Briefing. Finally, the Census Bureau announced a 1.5% rise in building permits plus a 6.3% improvement in groundbreaking. The latter gain put the annualized rate for housing starts back above $1 million. These are all bullish signs for those interested in starting a small business of their own.
