With the launch of 2014 came a whole new season that CCI finds - TopicsExpress

With the launch of 2014 came a whole new season that CCI finds itself in. The first 5 years of our history was in a great sense a period of discovery and finding our feet; leading to what was often prophesized to be a season of “possessing the land” or “the break of the dam wall”… To some extent the comparison between the life story of Moses and that of Joshua can be drawn; Moses representing the previous season and now specifically the chronicles of Joshua from which the Lord has been speaking to us in very clear references. My personal interpretation in this regard is that some of these references may be as significant to us as the Mark 6 references are to the Doxa Deo family. Consequently, I would therefore like to share some of the key revelations with everybody and ask for your prayer during this time as all of you are either directly or indirectly associated to the CCI family. Joshua chapter 1 (Be strong and courageous) – It is clear that the Lord is challenging us to prepare our hearts and spirits for what lies ahead. Though all the victories in CCI’s future have already been established in Him, it does not mean that there won’t be injuries along the way. What we really trust the Lord for, is that we can live with injuries, but aim to avoid casualties at all cost. Joshua 1:10-16 (Supporting one another till all have obtained victory) – Though some of the Israelites already received their promised possession of land on the Eastern side of the Jordan, every man who could bear arms was to accompany the rest of Israel till all the land was possessed. As a family, CCI clearly discerns that the Lord is calling us to a time of supporting one another, even if it goes beyond our areas of direct responsibilities. Joshua 2:9-11 – (The exclamation of Rahab) – The harlot of Jericho made definitive statements regarding the purpose of Israel and that no people or nation will stand against them. Not that CCI plan to take over the world, but we feel that God is confirming His promise to us in no uncertain terms. This is the time and season He has called us to have a significant impact in higher education in our country and beyond. Joshua 3:1-5 (Moving in response to revelation) – There was a clear call for the Israelites to consecrate themselves for the journey that led them to the crossing of the Jordan. Though we understand our consecration in Christ, there is a New Covenant principle of responding to revelation; and this is the place that we desire to function from. There are so many great opportunities crossing our way, but to stay in His will for the season that is at hand is of critical importance to us. Joshua 3:16-17 (Trusting in the supernatural) – This theme is actually consistently re-occurring throughout the entire book. Even before the Israelites engaged in any form of warfare, God already had to supernaturally intervene on their behalf. This ranges from the parting of the Jordan River to the fall of the walls of Jericho. It is true that a moment of favour will indeed bring us further than a lifetime of labour. What is truly magnificent about the Jordan River is that unlike the Red sea, the water did not stop right in front of them, but way upstream. In other words, they were at the receiving end of a miracle that was busy taking place somewhere else. We feel strongly that the Lord is saying to us that a lot of the miracles we will encounter this year will happen in other places and we will enjoy the fruit thereof. Joshua 4:21-24 (Monuments of glory) – We sometimes take a very negative look at spiritual monuments and call for advancement. However, from a Scriptural point of view, establishing references of His grace and glory for the generation to come is imperative, as long as we keep the dynamics of the relationship with Him and the call to His purpose through us clear in mind. As a result, we are greatly challenged as to how we will capture in remembrance, all that He is busy doing, for the generations that are to come. Though I believe there are many more revelations from the life of Joshua, these are the key focal points for the next season for us. As we look unto the Lord to bring them to pass and consider how CCI grows into full stature, we will truly celebrate this as a year of maturity. Marcel Hattingh CCI – Director
