With the news of Sleater-Kinneys reunion tour and new album, out of the Boog vault here are the words Corin Tucker was kind enough to share with us for our Dig Me Out Classic Album show at Welcome to Boog City 6 in 2012 (plus a youtube link to the album). https://youtube/watch?v=FbmZi_VS4ZM&list=ALBTKoXRg38BBgA2NUHYy2leEqqIAxKkUI Dig Me Out Firstly let me thank you for taking the time to learn this album and play it for people. It was a cold winters day in December of 1996 when we set off to record this album in Seattle, WA. There had been an unusual snowstorm in the Pacific Northwest the night before. Janet and I were in Portland and I had to boil water and pour it over the band van just to unfreeze it and drive to her house. We almost had an accident on I-5 when a large chunk of ice hit the windshield, but Janet didnt flinch. Carrie met us at John (Goodmanson) and Stus (Stuart Hallerman)studio. We recorded and mixed the record in 10 days with John, and without central heating. The weather, the freezing cold, and the tight budget and schedule were just small hurdles that we jumped over. We were ready. We had the songs, we had the best drummer, and we had a musical partnership which showcased our different talents. We wanted to tell our stories. When the record came out in the spring of 1997, we were again in a van driving across the country, playing small venues. More snow. Someone had told us we were in Time magazine. We stopped at a gas station, our roadie picked up a copy, and there we were. It seemed so foreign to the tight-knit music community we had come out of, but a larger audience picked up on the record, the shows were packed, and we had arrived in show business. Dig Me Out changed everything for us. And it was so much fun. All my best, Corin Tucker
