With the partial solar eclipse happening on this #TBT we wanted to - TopicsExpress

With the partial solar eclipse happening on this #TBT we wanted to look at when the last one occurred for Oregon viewers. Turns out it was on May 20, 2012, which you can see in the image below! (Photo courtesy of Steven Hausler, The Hays Daily/AP) But if you arent able to make it to OMSI for the viewing today, you wont be totally out of luck--observers will have the good fortune to enjoy an even more spectacular eclipse visible from most of Oregon, on August 21, 2017. The next annular eclipse (when the moon aligns with the sun and the sun appears as a ring, or annulus, around the moon) for the U.S. wont come until October 14, 2023, however. https://omsi.edu/starparties/partial-solar-eclipse-viewing/102314
