With the philosophy of liberal democracy, property-owning, free-market economy and free speech, the NPP within its 8 years tenure chalked some measurable success. Most prominent of them are as follows: *.The repeal of the criminal libel law. The repeal of this law has open up media freedom to a large degree by decriminalizing speech; this meant that nobody could be punished for any publication. Its also this law that has allowed newspapers like the informer,daily post and the herald newspaper to published all kind of garbage. *.With the ushering in of the golden age of business, the Ghanaian markets saw a lot of liberalization with a lot of private sector involvement in the economy. *.Enhancing of public transport with the introduction of the Metro-Mass Transit bus services that enable pupils to ride free to and from school. *.The National health insurance to replace the cash and carry system. *.The capitation and school feeding program to further enhance free education at the basic level. *.The National Youth Employment Program to provide intermediate employment to the youth of Ghana. *.Growth of the economy from 4% – 7% (approximately) *.The construction of the Bui Dam and a number of developmental projects were undertaken in addition to those listed above. Meanwhile the NDC total of 25years in government has nothing to boast of except paying of huge monies to party cronies in the name of judgement debt and collapsing of those social intervention policies that was initiated by the previous governments.
