With the recent viral video of the NY woman who used a hidden camera to show the many instances of verbal street harassment many women experience on a day-to-day basis, Ive been reading and receiving many many comments/messages blaming the WOMAN because of the way she was dressed. I personally did not have a problem with the way she was dressed and do not see how some people did. Harassment does not occur because of how a woman dresses. Ive experienced harassment, here and in the Middle East, both as a woman who once didnt wear hijab and as a woman who now wears hijab.
