Without a Trace Who do we think we are, and to them, who do they think they are, and to us? Do you care, do we, do they? Suffocating, in the open air, unaware it’s poisoned by bias, falsehoods, occasional affirmations of preconceived prejudice. I am not wrong... denial will be our last breath, our end coming in the form of an uninjured ego, of a rejection of humility. It isn’t possible, we bring this upon ourselves, we… us, them, they, is there any difference, no one is innocent, in some way we are all guilty. Silence, inaction, we bear them no mind though the severity of their consequences knows little which is greater. Speaking, action, not without fault, but intention should be revered and apathy despised, not favored. Quick to point a finger, blind to one’s own reflection, greedily consuming good will, yet generosity comes only with expectation. Is it me and them, the pessimists, the happy bearers of bad news, taking joy with cause, that which destroys the bliss in the world of oblivion too many choose to reside in. Or is it you and those that pretend not to hear, ignore, write it off, condemn it as self-righteousness, shun the speaking of truths that wish to remain unacknowledged for the sake of civility. Some will still continue, to speak, to act, not to frustrate, belittle, or annoy, but to empower, to bring light to the path that has been here all along, yet, went unrecognized because to do so would be to forfeit. And we can’t have that, can we? Rather a world without sight and sound, where we are all united, the deaf, the dumb, the blind, and the rest, where being wrong is inconsequential, and forgotten. Without willingness, without communication, together, here we are at last, no one getting what they desire, we chose instead to vanish, slowly, painfully, into a void of the unknown and disgrace which we foolishly mistook for popularity and pride. ~Manic Marcus marcusmckean.wordpress
