Without any frame of reference, we often take what the Lord may - TopicsExpress

Without any frame of reference, we often take what the Lord may instruct us to do to help us (be it to get a sin out of our lives, or a distraction from His plan to bless us), as something cruel, sadistic, or painful. These are changes that your flesh rejects but your spirit will celebrate! (Always in context of John 10:10) God Wants us free from sin and death (See Romans 8), but often we reject His plans to bless us, taking instead our own way. Consider a man from the 1700s witnessing the following account - with no frame of reference. I watched in horror as a group of men carefully strapped a child to a table shining bright lights in his eyes. Then I saw as they began inserting needles into his arms, injecting him with chemicals which rendered him unconscious. The men then began to take out drills, knives, saws, and various tools the likes of which Ive never seen before. The men began cutting, and drilling and sawing on the boys head, it was the most horrific thing Ive seen. The removed the top of His head and after hours of cutting more and more they removed what I can only imagine was the childs brain. Then they put the top of his head back on and woke him up. So what just happened? It sounds like a cruel group of sadistic people committed a painful atrocity against an innocent child. In reality what I just described, in brief, was the removal of brain tumor, an operation that just saved a childs life. Without the proper frame of reference, this life saving action seemed violent and horrific, but it was in fact an act of compassion, and salvation. How many times does this happen with God? People who dont know Him, dont know His word, who have no frame of reference, accusing Him without even the basest of understanding. So unwilling to undergo the cutting away of sin - His people parish - refusing the life saving operation, because they lack knowledge... Proverbs 29:18, Hosea 4:6
