Wives Of Northern Governors Demand Release Of Abducted Female Students Wives of governors in the North under the aegis of Northern Governor’s Wives Forum on Friday demanded the immediate and unconditional release of more than 120 female students of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno state, who were abducted by men believed to be members of the Boko Haram sect. Releasing a statement after an emergency meeting in Makurdi, they condemned the action, describing the victims as “harmless students and future mothers” whose lives should not be traumatized, but protected and safeguarded by all. They also lamented the Monday morning bombing at Nyanya motor park, consoling families of victims and praying for the quick recovery of the injured. They urged politicians to refrain from politicizing the security challenge facing the country. “We appreciate the efforts of the federal government in containing the security threats in the country, but it should seek help from other countries to end the problem of insurgency in the Nigeria”, read a part of the statement, signed by Chairperson of the forum and wife of Benue State Governor, Mrs. Yemisi Suswam.
