Wives, dont give up easily on your marriages. These days marriages are not as sacred as it used to be. Any little thing and we are ready to give it all up. Patience is truly a virtue. There is this african folklore that goes as follows: A wife went to a herbalist and told him that her husband is too demanding and never cooperative. The herbalist told her to go and look for the milk of a lioness. This wife went into the forest and spotted a pregnant lioness. Everyday she would throw her a piece of meat to win her confidence. She did this everyday for a month till she gained the confidence of the lioness. When the lioness was about to give birth, the wife was now well attached to the lioness enough for her to pat and calm her down during labor. After the birth she got the requested milk and quickly took it to the herbalist. When he saw the milk he asked her how she performed the almost impossible task and she narrated the whole story to him. The herbalist then told her to go home and exercise that same amount of patience with her husband and all will be well. The gist of the story is that with a little extra patience, marriages will be able to withstand the test of time. Remember, the grass is not always greener on the other side. Put the extra effort in your relationship and make it work. Romans 12:12 says you must rejoice in hope, be patient during tribulations and be constant in prayer. Even when you are about to give it all up, be patient. When all doors seems closed, be patient. When the hardship and pain is too much to bear, be patient. Be constant in your prayers. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Remember that Gods plan for you is not of evil but to give you a future and hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
