Woe to those who die in mortal sin! But blessed are those whom death will find in Your most holy will, faithful to Your Commandments, for the second death shall do them no harm”. From ‘The Canticle of Creatures’ by SAINT FRANCIS OF ASSISI. (Feast day: 4th October) Saint Francis, one of the most loved saints of all times, in his beautiful prayer of laud, (contrary to many of todays clergy), does not hesitate to admonish about mortal sin and eternal damnation for those who persist in living in mortal sin till the very last moments of their life, even though they are well aware that they are infringing God’s Commandments and displeasing Him immensely, yet choose to persist in doing so by return to God’s love and mercy by refusing to repent, convert and change their way of life. It is for these people that Our Lord said: “All sins can be forgiven but one: blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.” For those who refuse to convert and choose to persist in living in sin to serve their own self-pride and selfishness, refuse God’s forgiveness. How much these miserable unfortunate people who persist living in mortal sin, need very much our prayers, and must take heed to these words of Saint Francis and very urgently!
