Woke up a little after 6AM, decided to run. Step outside in shorts - TopicsExpress

Woke up a little after 6AM, decided to run. Step outside in shorts and a t-shirt, of course the temps are down in the 30s. Toss on a hoodie, stretch, and off I go. Ran a little over a mile. At the end, my back and chest are in pain, I cant hardly take a deep breath, Im coughing, and I have a nasty blood taste in my mouth. Usually, if I have a longer run, everything turns purple, my head swims, and I feel really sick to my stomach. Ive always been active, and in high school, especially my late junior and all through my senior year, I was working out and running constantly. I ran a mile in 4:58. Used to put on two 15 lbs vests and run the bleachers and stadium a lot. I was in amazing shape, but even then, I struggled with these same issues that I listed above. Not so much the back problems. That comes from my job. Ive had back pain for some time now, but you just push past it and keep going. The rest though, its been a long time thing. I stumbled upon a health article last year though that I believe explains what Im dealing with. Its called Acidosis. Im not a medical professional so I wont attempt to explain it. There are a number of web sites that do explain it though, this being one of them: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001181.htm Notice that its a .gov web site, so that means you can trust it to be accurate and complete. At any rate, even though I literally feel like Im going to have a heart attack, Im going to keep at it. lol Granted, I was 16 and 17 back then, and Im about to hit 30 now, so there is an age difference, but I am blessed with good genes. I only weigh about 15 to 20 lbs more now than I did in high school. I have for some time been working on cleaning up my diet as well. I have almost completely eliminated all store bought foods that have any GMOs or artificial additives. Drinks, I am only on water, non-concentrated juice, and organic milk. Well, and the occasional agave cola, but there is nothing bad in those. If you havent tried them, Mother Earths sells them. :) Actually very good! Anyways, Im on the right track. Its going to be painful, but Im going to get back to where I once was.
